ACT I: COUNCIL OF THE ROSE

Scene 1
MUSICAL CUE: “Fanfare”
VIDEO: As “Fanfare” is played video appears of a man struggling up a mountain. The first shots are close ups of of his feet and hands as he is climbing. As the musics builds the full mountain is shown.

(As music ends a spotlight reveals a door as shown on the “Music from the Elder” album cover)
(Morpheus walks into the spot light and lifts the heavy metal knocker on the door.)
SOUND EFFECT: “Knocking Sound”
Note: Sound effect needs to be slowed down and echo needs to be added.

COUNCIL OF THE ROSE
Enter the Chamber of the Council of the Rose
(The door opens, Morpheus walks through the door. The spotlights dims)

(When the lights come back up Morpheus is standing in front of four cloaked individuals with hoods covering their heads and faces.)

COUNCIL OF THE ROSE
Morpheus, you are summoned to become a member of the Rose, to leave all that you know and serve to foster the civilizations throughout the universe, and help them achieve their highest potential

MORPHEUS
Yes, great Council. I will do what you bid, I am ready to serve. What journey do you ask of me?

COUNCIL OF THE ROSE
Morpheus, you will be assigned to the inhabitants of Earth.

VIDEO: The Earth is shown on the projector, first from a distance, and then mountains, plains, forests, oceans, etc. Then man struggling with elements, animals, etc.

MORPHEUS
Looks, ummm, quaint. And what is the issue with the heroes on this outlying planet? Are they struggling with the dark energy synthesis? That is always tricky..

COUNCIL OF THE ROSE
The inhabitants of Earth are only just beginning to evolve into civilizations. There have been no heroes yet on Earth, you will be the first of the council assigned to this planet.

MORPHEUS
You are assigning me a world without heroes?

COUNCIL OF THE ROSE
Morpheus this is your journey, do you accept? Do you take the Oath? Will your life Under the Rose?

MUSICAL CUE: “Under the Rose”

(Morpheus bows and is inducted into the council as the lights fade out.)
